Our New Car!

A few months ago I mentioned that over the course of this year we’re looking to trade in our current car for a new-to-us fuel efficient vehicle.

Well, we changed our minds. Instead of opting for one of those lightweight Priuses (I mean, who knows how well it’ll do in the snowy months?), we instead will be picking up our new Ford Excursion today!

I’m so excited! Who cares if it was given the “Exxon Valdez” award by the Sierra Club, at least I’ll feel secure driving this tank between town and the mountain on those icy, icy days. Besides, if I buy enough energy offset credits from a company like Terra-pass then it doesn’t really matter what I drive.

The excursion is just plain safer; if we get into an accident at least we know we’ll live.

Have a fine April day!

I’m glad y’all enjoyed it. Hmmm … one of my favorite days of the year.

Excursions are gas-guzzling beasts. Not for me.

Nice job; you had me until I checked the date.

I’m sure there are some Grist subscribers around here. They had a piece about Wal*Mart abandoning their “green” initiatives that had me in a self-righteous rage of “Ha! I KNEW it!” until I clicked the “read more” and realized I’d been suckered.

I’m just reading your blog for the first time and I was about to send you an irate e-mail about how you should buy a car that uses bio-fuel.

    OK, now I feel dumb.
